Indian troops martyred 18 Kashmiris in August
          SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their continued acts of state terrorism martyred 18 Kashmiris during the last month of August. According to the data issued by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, 134 people were critically injured when Indian army and police used brute force against peaceful demonstrators during the month. Besides, 174 civilians, mostly youth, were arrested during the period. The Indian police personnel also molested 7 women in the month. Senior APHC leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, in a media interview in Srinagar, today, called upon India to take practical steps to make atmosphere conducive for talks with Pakistan to settle the Kashmir dispute peacefully. APHC leader, Zafar Akbar Butt, in a statement issued in Srinagar, paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of Safa Nagri, Nelura and Pulwama, killed by Indian troops on this day in 1991. He reiterated the Kashmiris' resolve to continue the mission of their martyrs till it reached its logical conclusion. Hurriyet leader, Zamurda Habib and the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League in their separate statements called upon the international human rights organizations to take notice of the invoking of black law, Public Safety Act, against the illegally detained Kashmiri youth by Indian police.
          The forum led by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has formed a committee led by Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi to approach the Hurriyet Conference Jammu and Kashmir to carry forward the liberation struggle in a more effective manner. The Voice of Victims, a local human rights organization, in a statement appealed to the international human rights defenders to set up a crime tribunal under international laws for prosecuting Indian troops involved in grave human rights violations in the occupied territory.
