Some sister game is being played in
the region India is perpetually violating the ceasefire on the Line of control
and working boundary and has adopted a
threatening posture through irresponsible statements by its civil and military leadership India is also trying to
create bad blood between Pakistan and brotherly country Iran. However, Army Chief General Raheel Sharif,
addressing the cadets at passing out parade at Pakistan Military Academy, vowed
to thwart any aggression against the country.
He did not mince words when he said that lasting peace in the region
hinges on solution on Kashmir problem in accordance with the wishes of Kashmiri
people as enshrined in the UN resolutions.
He added Pakistan Army was fully capable of deterring and defeating
aggression across the entire spectrum of threats. The message is loud and clear to those
harboring ill-intentions about Pakistan.
Referring to Afghanistan General
Raheel expressed the hope that the new political dispensation in Afghanistan
would bring peace stability and prosperity to the people of Afghanistan and the
region at large. He assured that
Pakistan Army in its capacity will do all that is necessary to support the
Afghan security forces in every possible manner in fact, Pakistan had helped
Afghanistan when occupied by former Soviet forces, and accommodated more than
three million refugees for decades. Yet
India has been allowed to use Afghan soil to conduct clandestine activities
through its proxies in Balochistan. Yet
Indian civilian and military leadership has been crying hoarse that Pakistan is
supporting non-state actors in terrorists’ activities in India. On his first
day in office on Ist August 2014, Indian Army chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag
had warned Pakistan that India’s response to any beheading like incident in the
future would be more than adequate, intense and immediate.
It appeared that a press reporter was
prompted to as question about Indian’s response to Pakistan over Indian soldier’s
beheading and mutilating his body so that Indian army chief could spew venom
against Pakistan. A former army chief
General Bikram Singh had stated that Indian had given a befitting reply to
Pakistan after the after the incident.
One would not know as to why Dilbir Singh chose to refer to that matter
after more than 18 months to lambaste Pakistan.
Indian continues with its sinister de-signs against Pakistan. However, the continued violations of
ceasefire on LoC by the Indian Army and offensive overtures made by
over-zealous media and government officials are deplorable. Over more than a decade, Pakistan’s civil and
military leaderships have shown restraint in the wake of provocative statements
by Indian civil and military leaders.
Indian has always balked at the
negotiations to resolve that disputes between the two countries including the
core issue of Kashmir. Indian political
and military leadership resorted to jingoism and continued hurling threats. It is a matter of record that Pakistan has
been talking peace while Indian leaders continue to stir tension one way or
another. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has
many a time expressed his wish to have cordial relations with India and is
eager to settle all the disputes with Indian including Kashmir through
dialogue. Of course, pre-election
Indo-Pak tension had been stirred by India to influence voters to cast their
votes for those political parties which abhor Pakistan and its military.
According to reports, India will float a company to develop Iran’s Chabahar
Port, as New Delhi aims to take advantage of thaw in Tehran’s relations with
world powers.
The port of Chabahar in south east
Iran is central to India’s efforts to circumvent Pakistan and open up a route
to landlocked Afghanistan were it has developed close security ties and
economic interests Pakistan’s foreign office ledged a strong protest with Iran on Saturday after
the neighbouring country’s border guards stormed into Pakistani territory and
killed a security official Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Raz Haghighian
was summoned to the foreign Office in Islamabad, diplomatic source said and
Pakistan lodged a strong protest with him over the recent incident. Diplomatic source confirmed that during the
meeting the foreign Office de-managed the Iranian ambassador to conduct a
thorough investigation into the incident, which also resulted in injuries to
four other Pakistanis. The protest came
hours after Iranian forces again fired mortar shells into Pakistani territory
earlier on Saturday.
According to Pakistan security
officials, Iranian border guards fired three mortar shells in Mashkail, a
Pakistani town bordering Iran. The
Balochistan government demanded that that the centre takes up the issue of continued
border violations by Iranian border guards with the Iranian foreign office Last
Friday morning Iranian border guards attacked a vehicle of Frontier Corps
inside Pakistani territory killing one FC man and injuring three others. Iranian border guards have been violating
Pakistani territory for the last few days.
In another incident, at least 30 Iranian border guards entered into
Pakistan’s town of Nokundi, which border Iran and made the residents of a
nearby village hostage for six hours.
The FC strongly condemned the infiltration of Iranian guards and vowed
to defend the border in the case of future violation of the porous 900 km
border between the two countries.
The Iranian government has been
carrying out a hot pursuit of the militants and its guards often infiltrate in
Pakistan. But this does not provide an
excuse to the Iranian guards to violate or undermine sovereignty of the
Pakistani border the two countries share.
Thus Pakistan has every right to tell Iranians not to escalate tension on
the border, as it would be considered as help to India when India is involved
in violations on the Line of control and working boundary. Pakistan and Iran are bound together by
faith, common heritage and shared values of love and peace. Both countries have co-operated and stood by
each other in the event of a calamity or crisis in the past. Though there has been a brief period of
tension between two friendly countries after the revolution in Iran because of
misunderstandings. Pakistan could never
think of becoming part of any intrigue to destabilize Iran. It is a matter of record that Pakistan always
supported Iran on its right to develop nuclear technology for peaceful
purposes.
