Kashmiris to continue
struggle till success
Srinagar
In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Agha
Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, has said that the Kashmiris have been offering
unparalleled sacrifices for securing their right to self-determination and they
will continue their struggle till the Kashmir dispute is resolved in accordance
with their aspirations.
According
to Kashmir Media Service, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi addressing a
meeting of the activists of his party, Jammu and Kashmir
Anjuman Sharie Shian, in Badgam said that India was using repressive measures
to suppress the Kashmiris’ liberation struggle but it would never succeed in
its nefarious designs. He demanded release of all illegally detained Kashmiris
before Eid-ul-Fitr so that they could celebrate this auspicious occasion with
their families.
The
APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, addressing a gathering at Khanyar in Srinagar rejected the
demand of a Jammu-based communal organisation, Panun Kashmir, for a separate
homeland for Kashmiri Pandits.
He
said that the APHC had made it clear that it would never accept the split of Jammu and Kashmir on
religious or regional basis as it would foment a fire that would be impossible
to douse. He said that the Pandits were inalienable part of the Kashmiri society
and as such they should not pay heed to the propaganda of communal fanatics.
People
staged massive demonstrations in Palhallan area of Baramulla against the arrest
of a local Imam by Indian police. Raising high-pitched anti-India and
pro-liberation slogans, they demanded his immediate release.
The
police fired several teargas shells to disperse the protesters injuring at
least three people. The authorities have deployed Indian police and troops in
strength in the area to prevent further protests. People also staged a sit-in
on Srinagar-Jammu Highway
in Ramban area against the mysterious killing of a man, who was found dead in
his house.
On
the other hand, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred
one more Kashmiri youth at Mooldari in Handwara area of Kupwara district during
continued military operations. The troops have martyred fourteen youth in
different areas of the district during last one week period.
Meanwhile,
the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League at a
meeting presided over by its Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, in Srinagar finalized the programmes for the
observance of the martyrdom anniversary of senior APHC leader, Sheikh Abdul
Aziz.
Sheikh
Aziz was shot dead by Indian troops on 11th August, 2008, while he was leading
a procession from Srinagar to the Line of
Control against the economic blockade of the Valley by Hindu extremists of Jammu .
