Kuwait Fund to provide Rs 806.4m for AJK
Kuwait city: Kuwait Fund (KF) management has agreed to provide Rs 806.6 million for the completion of eight educational facilities including Rawalakot Chotta Gala university campus, girls and boys colleges in Azad Jammu Kashmir.
While giving the details Deputy Chairman Earthquake, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) Maj Gen Muhammad Asif Azeem said that all projects related loan issues discussed in.
During the meeting KF officials appreciated completion of 23 educational institutions out of 31 which they declared as KF best rating projects. He said KF has approved Rs 4.962 billion for the 31 projects in AJ&K and among these 23 projects have been completed while for the remaining eight projects Kuwait Fund agreed to provide Rs 806.4 million.
During the meeting KF funds management acknowledged the pace of work and appreciated ERRA Management for amicable removal of hurdles including litigation by some land owners which caused delay of eight projects including state of art university Rawalakot Chotta Gala campus.
While sharing the details of the eight educational projects deputy Chairman said that KF will provide Rs 1.164 billion for the completion of Rawalakot (AJK) University Chotta Gala. He added that so for 10 percent construction work has been completed.
Giving the reasons of delay in the mega educational project he said that weather constraints, soil issues and litigation has caused the impediment. He expressed hope that with new techniques and vision the projects will be completed as the earliest.

ERRA official Col. Atif Bashir said that construction work of government Girls Degree College Abbas Pura Rawalakot has been completed. He added that for total completion of the colleges KF fund has provided Rs 108.9 million. He said that Government Girls Inter Colleges Ali Sojal Poonch Rawalakot has also been 84 percent completed and rest of work, finishing, laboratories and other facilities the KF will provide Rs 64.6 million. He added that for Government Boys Inter College Charala Bagh is also 74 percent completed while rest of work will be carried out with Rs 73.5 million.
