Indian troops martyr 14 Kashmiris in September
SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their continued acts of state terrorism martyred 14 Kashmiris during the last month of September. According to the data issued by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, 91 people were critically injured when Indian police and paramilitary personnel used brute force against peaceful demonstrators, while 17 civilians, mostly youth, were arrested during the month. Meanwhile, people staged protest demonstrations in different parts of Srinagar against the indifference of the puppet regime towards the flood-hit people of Kashmir. The protesters blocked the Srinagar-Baramulla highway at several places.
            APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani in their separate statements expressing solidarity with flood victims appealed to the world community to help in rehabilitating the affectees in Kashmir. Hurriyet Conference Jammu Kashmir at a meeting, which was presided over by Shabbir Ahmad Shah in Srinagar, today, called upon the Organization of Islamic Countries to come forward in a big way to assist in rebuilding the devastated Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was attended by Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Muhammad Iqbal Mir and Wajahat Qureshi. Hurriyet leaders, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Zafar Akbar Butt, Bashir Ahmad Andrabi, Jamaat-e-Islami and leaders of Muslim League during their visits to different flood-affected areas castigated India for not allowing international humanitarian aid to enter the devastated Jammu and Kashmir. In Washington, a candle light vigil was held outside the White House against India's illegal occupation over Jammu and Kashmir. The vigil was attended by a large number of Kashmiri leaders and activists. Addressing the demonstrators on the occasion, the Secretary General of the World Kashmir Awareness, Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai said that unresolved Kashmir dispute was a rebuke to the international community for its inaction.
